Second article: Technology
What’s cool
this week?
This week our team has chosen an unordinary object which is
called Nao. Nao is a kind of a robot called a humanoid, this means that the
robot is based on human, this includes looks and behaviour. The droid is
produced by a French company named Aldebaran Robotics
which is located in Paris. The project was first publicized in mid-2008, that’s
when the first customer version came out. Over the years the robot has been
developed to better understand its surroundings such as connection with humans.
The technology in the robot is really impressive as it uses different sensor
which when combined make the robot interact. The robot is 28in tall and weighs
3.5 kilograms and is available for purchase for these who have the money!
Evaluation
I have
researched different gaming articles in order to gather information about what
an article has to look like, this gave a perspective on how to design my own one,
the placement of the images as well as the amount of text. I have also reviewed
some reviews and facts about the game in order gather information valuable to
the reader, the information i've gathered helped me with writing a detailed intro for my article where I talked about the game developer as well as the game itself. The creation of the article was in depth detailed and allowed the
article to look professional, I have aligned the text with each other in order to make it look slick. The pre-production portfolio helped me plan out
the design and what I'm going to write. Also in my first article I had to
decide on what pictures I want to use, I knew one of them will have to
represent the game and give a brief view of it, and the other will have to
represent the topic I will be discussing, using this information I have found
good images that I've used in my article. The images weren't copyrighted as
they were for media use and were released by the developers.
Parent Adaptation
Counter Strike; Global Offense may be a game in which you shoot opponent, but it's much more than just that. Where as most games in the same genre, such as Call of Duty, is just mindless fun, Counter Strike requires much more skill. Counter Strike can teach its players qualities in which many may consider good life skills. These skills are things such as reaction time, hand eye co-ordination and most importantly team work. One of the key components for Counter Strike is that it requires tight teamwork to achieve the goal. The main objective of the game is to defuse the bomb about to go off, players get a set amount of time to do this while fighting off waves of enemies. To win, players must communicate and work as a team to take on the offenders and defuse the bomb in time.
Overall this game is great for teaching it's players many skills that may be required in later life as well as conveying a fun and enjoyable, team building experience.
